Certaldo Alto
In Certaldo the wedding ceremony is performed in the beautiful historic building Palazzo Pretorio. This building dates from the 7th century and is the most well-known monument of Certaldo.
Today it serves as a museum. The building was first a prison and later the private residence of the Vicari family, who lived here and governed over Certaldo.
On the front of the building, the family crests of the Vicari can be seen on the wall. The wedding ceremony can be performed in the courtyard next to the well, or in the unconsecrated church (making it a good alternative in uncertain weather).
Cortona
The town of Cortona is situated 600 meters above sea level on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. Walking through Cortona, you will find beautiful narrow streets with glimpses of the Val di Chiana in between.
It is of Etruscan origin, but the historic center dates from the Middle Ages.
The wedding ceremony is performed in the Council Chamber of the town hall. A striking feature is the grand staircase that leads up to this room.
Lucignano
This small town is located in the province of Arezzo, in the heart of the Valdichiana. The old town lies within the city walls and most of its monuments date from the Middle Ages.
The town hall is housed in the Palazzo Pretorio, which also contains the beautiful wedding room adorned with frescoes.
Pienza
This small town owes its beauty to Enea Silvio Piccolomini, who was born in Corsignano in 1405 and was proclaimed Pope in 1458. He commissioned the renovation of the Castello di Corsignano, dating from 828, in Renaissance style.
Pienza is world-famous for its Pecorino (sheep's cheese) and is situated in the heart of the stunning Val d'Orcia. The wedding ceremony is performed in the Council Chamber of the town hall.
San Gimignano
San Gimignano is a beautiful medieval village world-famous for its towers. These towers were built between the 11th and 13th centuries. The wealthiest family built the tallest tower — it was essentially a kind of competition.
The wedding ceremony is performed in an ancient room with frescoes in the Palazzo del Podestà, situated right next to the Duomo. The frescoes date from the 13th century and were created by artists of the Scuola Senese and Fiorentina.
The tower also dates from the 13th century.
San Miniato
San Miniato is a romantic, medieval town of Etruscan and Roman origin, situated in the heart of Tuscany. History tells us that Napoleon regularly made a stopover here during his travels.
The town is set on a hill and is known for its tower, the Torre Federico II.
The wedding ceremony is performed in the Council Chamber or the 'Sala delle Sette Virtù' of the town hall, located in the heart of the town, right next to the characteristic cathedral and near the imposing fortress and other elegant historic buildings.
Volterra
Volterra was already a settlement three thousand years ago, but its current form dates from the Middle Ages. To this day, Volterra still has a clearly visible city wall, and within these walls lie many historic buildings. The influence of the Renaissance is clearly evident.
The wedding ceremony is performed in the Palazzo dei Priori, a building dating from 1246. Today it serves as the town hall of Volterra.
The building is situated on the beautiful Piazza dei Priori. The wedding room is magnificently painted with frescoes from the 18th century.
Serravalle Pistoiese
Serravalle Pistoiese is located between Montecatini Terme and Pistoia. The old castle of the village dates back to the 12th century. It has been in the hands of the city of Lucca, the Florentines, and Cosimo I de' Medici.
It is a charming, small village perched on top of the green hills at the foot of the Apennines.
The civil wedding ceremony is performed in the old oratory, which features frescoes from the 16th century.
Vinci
Vinci is a world-famous town because the scholar Leonardo da Vinci was born here on April 15, 1452, in the nearby village of Anchiano, where he spent his childhood years in Vinci.
There are two wedding venues in Vinci. One of them is the medieval fortress with its tower, which today houses the Museo Leonardiano.
The other wedding venue is the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci in Anchiano, where you can exchange vows outdoors in the courtyard.
Poppi
The castle of Poppi is the dream venue for your wedding! The castle dates from the Middle Ages. In the 14th century, the famous Florentine writer Dante Alighieri wrote part of his celebrated work the Divine Comedy here.
Throughout the centuries the castle served as a military base. At one point it also had a drawbridge, which has since disappeared, as the castle was used solely as a residence in more recent centuries and today functions as a museum and as a venue for weddings and events.
Barga
Barga is located in the Garfagnana area in the Apennines, 30 km north of Lucca. In this medieval town the famous poet Giovanni Pascoli lived from 1895 until his death in 1912.
The town hall is situated in the heart of the historic center, with its narrow and steep streets.
The wedding room is beautifully furnished with wooden chairs and antique paintings on the walls.
